The goal was simple: to design our own house!

This House would have to be able to welcome us, to meet our spatial needs, our functional requirements, to be a space for research, work and study. A place to hang out, socialise and share.

This space, our house, which welcomes us during the day, should promote an environment that is our own, that defines our language, that is stimulating and sensitive, capable of communicating with us and through which we communicate with others.

The intervention is the result of the appropriation of the commercial area, with approximately 300 m2, on the ground level of a housing complex, characterised by the permeability of the large glazed openings, a transparent skin that extends along the two façades that communicate with the public space. Through it, you can see the skeleton that supports this built body, the concrete elements that support the weight of the building and connect it to the ground.

The choice was to use truth as the principle of the intervention, not hiding, but exposing and revealing the body, stripped down, rude, raw… honest. In contrast, we used oak wood to materialise the elements of spatial manipulation, functional and programmatic organisation.

The House, our House, is the place where our desires and beliefs whisper, where the silences of our future memories echo, an infinite sheet of paper where we draw, design, discuss and think about architecture.
