Alicante. A hillside by the sea. A quiet, peaceful way of life.

The place, due to its particular and context-defining characteristics, is essential in the approach and study of any architectural project. There are common places, and there are places with their own essences and atmospheres.

That’s the origin of this project – to grasp its essence and think of architecture as an integral part of the place.

The project thus aims to insert itself into the hillside, capture its ALMA and, through architectural design, redefine the shape of the hillside. The flats seek to absorb the sea’s energy and exposure to the sun, staggering their position to create outdoor spaces where there is a sense of protection, privacy and peace.

It is important in this project that the architectural space reflects the experience of the place – living with ALMA, calmly, by the sea.
